Courtney Alexander — Visual Artist & Ritualist
A visual archive and ever-expanding altar of works moving through selfhood, lineage, land, and the divine.
From the archive.
My practice asks who gets to be holy. I work across painting, installation, film, ritual, self portraiture, and storytelling. The work is shaped by my body, my spiritual practice, my memories, and the places I come from. I am interested in the stories we inherit about worth, beauty, freedom, and the sacred, especially when those stories were never made with us in mind. Over time, this practice has become both altar and archive. It is a way of calling my own spirit back into my body, preserving what should not be lost, and making room for new myths to take form.
